UPDATE:  STATEMENT FROM 3/2020

I strongly believe in massage therapy as an important part of people's health & well being. The challenge right now is balancing the practice of that belief with taking care during the serious health situation which has now descended upon all of us. In order to slow down and try to be mindful & heartful of this, I will be shutting down the online scheduler and will only be accepting clients on a case-by-case basis by phone or email. (If you are already scheduled online you are still on the books). If I am working, I am continuing my stringent sanitary practices updated here-see the "Maintaining Health" page. I will be checking in with you by phone the morning of your appointment.

If you are self-isolating, there are ways you can help yourself with muscular tightness. For guidance I like Doctor Jo on YouTube quite a bit.

& don't forget Katey's icing trick! (For those that tolerate cold ok). Take an ice cube and with a towel to catch the drips, gently massage the cube right into the sore spot for about 10-15seconds(also there's the shower version-bring the ice cube into the shower with you so the warm water will carry away the cold drips while you massage w/the cube). Alternatively, you can place a cold pack for 10-15mins over the sore spot, and you can alternate it with a heat pack. NOTE: for achiness caused by either a virus or arthritis, in my experience a heat pack is best.

Phew! How quickly things can change! We think things are stable until the Earth does move! It looks like we are in this for the long haul, & there are changes afoot. If you would like & are able to support your local massage therapist, invest in the future by buying a gift certificate.  They never expire!  (I will still be doing massage in on the other side of this pandemic, although most likely on a part-time basis).

In the midst of all this, I am aware of feeling so grateful for having been lucky enough to do massage as my full-time work for so long, and having had such truly wonderful people as clients.  I'm honored to have been a part of your health care.  You are in my heart.

My best wishes to you and your family during this crisis.  May you stay in good health and even happiness! (I must admit, in spite of the fear and tragedy I am enjoying the slower pace of life & the quiet outside.)  One way or the other we will work together & we will persist!
See you on the other side!

PS I am still hoping to practice my T-Touch work, either outdoors from 6ft away or on Skype.  If you know anyone who would like to learn about a compassionate & cooperative way of working with their animal, send them my way.  Thanks!
